Scripture Union (SU) is an inter-denominational Christian youth organisation with focus areas in Church partnerships, evangelism, Bible reading and abstinence education in schools. We are looking for 2 people to fill crucial leadership positions in our organisation from January 2009.

Regional Director
This position has been filled.

Assistant Regional Director
This candidates key objective with be to assist the Regional Director in the effective implementation and management of SU’s Fieldwork programme in the Western Cape. This includes the management of staff and projects. Project management skills would be essential and a strong administrative focus an advantage.

Scripture Union Algoa (Port Elizbeth)

Assistant Regional Director

SU operates in most provinces from our regional offices. Various positions nationally include:

  • The East London region is needing an SU Worker for the city area, contact Sue Bentley for more information.
  • Our Kimberley team is needing an SU Worker, contact Bobby Brown.
  • SU in Durban needs an SU Worker, contact Jayce Naidoo.

  • We have 6-month / one-year volunteer options, like being an SU Trendsetter, available each year at every regional office.

Ideally an SU Worker needs a diploma / degree, plus has had some theological training and has experience in relational and contextual youth ministry in South Africa. SU Workers use a range of SU tools (like Camping, Holiday Clubs, Training and Lifeskills programmes) to see young people transformed by Christ and filled with hope.

Camping opportunities
SU has an amazing camping ministry across the country, involving adventure and sports ministries. We have exciting opportunities that include:

  • Campsite Manager positions;
  • Programme Manager positions;
  • and Camping Intern positions. (This is a practical 1-3 year training programme aiming to equip Interns with theoretical and practical training in adventure and sports ministry.)
